chalmersW500CHALMERS is located in Gothenburg, Sweden. It was founded in 1829 through the will of William Chalmers. Over a third of the 10,000 students enrolled in Master’s Programmes are international students.

Chalmers is a highly research-intensive University with more than 1,100 PhD students. CHALMERS focuses on eight main research areas, which include Built Environment, Energy, Information and Communication Technology, Life Science, Materials Science, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Production and Transport. CHALMERS coordinates the 1 Billion Euro FET flagship project Graphene.

CHALMERS takes part in Levitate through its Division of Applied Acoustics, which runs its own MSc programme (the only full programme in the field of sound and vibration in Sweden) and its own graduate school in applied acoustics. It also participates in CHARMEC, a Centre of Excellence in Railway Mechanics established at Chalmers University of Technology that has been in place for more than 20 years.
